Yaamini is the founder of Secto, a browser security company built to protect regulated industries from modern web, AI DLP, and Shadow AI risk. Her experience spans ethical hacking at RSA Security and vulnerability management at Dell Technologies, across penetration testing, threat intelligence, and security automation. She speaks frequently on browser security, AI-powered security automation, ethical hacking, and cloud security.

Ethical hacker turned vulnerability responder

Yaamini started on the offensive side, doing ethical hacking at RSA Security, testing defenses by trying to break through them. Penetration testing teaches a specific lesson quickly: attacks rarely need anything exotic. They follow the path of least resistance, and that path is almost always a person, a login, and a browser tab.

She then moved to the other side of the same problem, working in Vulnerability Management at Dell Technologies. There the work was triage and remediation at enterprise scale, coordinating fixes across products and teams, backed by threat intelligence and security automation. Between the two roles she saw both how attacks actually land and how long real organizations take to close the door.

Founding Secto

The same pattern kept coming back. Work had moved into AI apps and the browser. The controls had not. People were typing passwords into pages that only looked real, and losing sessions even after MFA. Every tool in the stack was watching somewhere else.

Then AI arrived and the stakes changed. People started handing company data to assistants nobody had approved. Blocking them did not stop it; it just moved it somewhere you could not see.

So she started Secto, to protect the one place all of it passes through.

Achievements

Yaamini has been recognized as Cybersecurity Woman of the Year, received the SANS Difference Makers Award 2024 and the Cyberjutsu Rising Star Award, and was named among the Top 50 Mentors in the U.S. She is a member of the Forbes Technology Council and serves as Vice President of WiCyS Austin, where she works to create opportunities for women and underrepresented groups in cybersecurity. She mentors through platforms including Ask Me and Topmate and speaks regularly at industry conferences.
